About Recipro

Built by People Who Know the Problem Firsthand.

Recipro was founded by two private-club professionals who experienced the challenges of reciprocal golf firsthand — and believed there had to be a better way.

In Their Own Words

Why reciprocal play needed rethinking.

Our Story

The Paper Disappeared. The Work Didn’t.

Bobby Conway was running the reciprocal process at a private club in Fort Myers, Florida. Reciprocal play there had always run on manual work, and the club had already done the obvious thing about it — members submitted their requests through an online form rather than on paper. On the face of it, that part was solved.

What the form did not change was everything that happened after a member pressed submit. Each request still meant calling another golf shop, leaving a voicemail, waiting on a call back, sending an email to confirm a date, coordinating the details, and then updating the member — and starting the whole loop again whenever plans moved. Submitting had got easier. Nothing behind it had.

Blake Sandlin was watching the same process from a different angle. His work covered the digital side of the private-club experience — club websites, apps, and the technology members actually use — so he had a clear view of how much of club life had already moved online, and of how far reciprocal golf still had to go.

What Actually Happened

  1. ONLINE FORM
  2. Member Submits Request
  3. Golf Shop
  4. Calls
  5. Emails
  6. Voicemails
  7. Follow-Ups
  8. Member Updates

The problem wasn’t the form. It was the process.

With so much of the private-club experience now happening digitally, why hadn’t reciprocal golf caught up? Neither of them had an answer for why it still worked this way — and that was the point. The fix was not a better request form. It was taking the home golf shop out of the middle and giving the member and the reciprocal club somewhere to meet.

As a PGA Professional, Bobby brings firsthand knowledge of golf operations to Recipro — including years of experience with the processes and challenges golf professionals manage every day. His perspective helps ensure Recipro is not simply technology built for golf shops, but technology shaped by someone who understands how they actually operate.

Outside of work, Bobby enjoys spending time with family and friends, following his favorite sports teams, and wasting valuable hours attempting to fix Blake’s golf swing.

Blake Sandlin

Co-Founder | Communications & Technology

Originally from Kentucky, Blake graduated from Murray State University in 2020 and now works as a communications director in Fort Myers. His work managing the digital side of the private-club experience — including club websites, apps and member technology — gave him a firsthand look at both the opportunities and frustrations that come with bringing traditional club processes online.

After watching golf staff spend valuable time managing reciprocal requests despite already using an online form, Blake approached Bobby with a question: If so much of the member experience has evolved with technology, why hasn’t reciprocal golf? That question became the starting point for Recipro.

Outside of work, Blake enjoys basketball, pickleball, church, and providing Bobby with an apparently endless supply of golf-swing problems to solve.

What We Believe

Give golf professionals their time back, and members a better round.

Reciprocal golf should feel like a natural extension of the private-club experience — personal, connected and effortless. That is the standard we hold the product to, and a network that strengthens the relationships clubs already have with each other is what we are building toward.

We strive to magnify Christ in everything we do, cultivate genuine relationships, and elevate the golf experience for clubs and members alike — with integrity in how we work and service as the point of it.
